How to protect buildings or environments from lightning
Release time: 2024-05-23
To conduct a lightning strike risk assessment, make a judgment on the building or structure. Based on the lightning strike risk assessment, determine whether the building is a lightning-protected building. If so, determine which type of lightning-protected building it belongs to.
Comprehensive lightning protection projects include the following:
External lightning protection measures and internal lightning protection measures.
External lightning protection measures include: air terminals, down conductors, shielding measures, and grounding devices. The air-termination device includes: air-termination rod (lightning rod tower), air-termination belt (lightning protection belt), air-termination wire (lightning protection wire) and air-termination net (lightning protection net).
Internal lightning protection measures include: shielding (isolation) measures, equipotential bonding, reasonable wiring, installation of surge protectors (SPD), and grounding systems.
Both can optionally share a grounding system.
